Social and Policy Implications of Digital Assessment Technology, Automatic Item Generation

Purpose of this presentation is illustrating various social and policy implications of the new assessment technology, Automatic Item Generation (AIG). An AIG approach integrates cognitive and psychometric theories for futuristic assessment services in digital framework. This presentation will explain how the policy-related concerns (e.g., teaching for testing, slow and expensive processes, teacher burnouts, etc.) caused by the traditional assessment methods can be overcome with the new digital technology, AIG.
